If you are trying to get to my website and can't - it's my fault! I was trying to upgrade my blog and blew a gasket, lol. Sooooo, bear with my while I try and get it fixed. Everything is still there - it's just my splash page that got booted. No worries - I'm working hard to get everything back in order.

We got the pool up yesterday and it took FOREVER to get it filled with water. The kiddos were very impatient...but were THRILLED today when it was all ready! Sadly, my son had to go to school - which he wasn't too worried about, since it was field day, ha ha. Got some cute shots of my Squidly in the pool though. It's a bit bigger than the one we used to have. She can barely touch the bottom on her tippy toes. Kinda stressful for me, but she's lovin' it. I think we shall be having swimming lessons at the Y soon (even though she doggy paddles quite well).

Nothing would do but she had to have the shark fin goggles - kinda cute, kinda scary, ROFL!

This afternoon I met with Kimberly Hill and Angela Crutcher - fellow photographers! Kimberly is from right here in Surfside...and a photographer that I have admired for a VERY long time! Her work is amazing, just take a peek at her work!! Angela, I met through a photography forum that we all frequent. She and her family were here on vacation from Tenn.

It was SO MUCH FUN hanging out with them. Our children had a blast playing together...and we had a blast with our cameras. The wind was blowing like crazy...but that didn't stop our fun!

I hope you guys had as much fun as Syda and I did! Kimberly, I can't wait to get together again...Sydney just loved playing with M :)! Here are a few of my captures from the day (ok, a LOT of them, ha ha...I just couldn't help but post them all). Quick edits...but cute nonetheless!

It is with a heavy heart that I let you know my daughters leadline pony "Cookie" crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. We were blessed to be a part of her life and miss her terribly! Some of the memories I was able to capture forever (pardon the quality - they are low res. versions)....

Sydney and Cookie...her first day with us in September of 2005. Sydney was not quite 3yo and still in diapers!
One of my all time favorite shots, ha ha. Cookie was a rescue pony before we got her. We know that her 3 years with us were some of her best. I mean, how adorable are these two?Sydney's very first horse show at the age of 3....Showin' a little love...

Yesterday was a BUSY day for me! Up at 4:30am and on the road to Florence, SC to pick up a pony for my daughter. Oh my goodness is he the cutest little thing! 'Gambado' or "Marty" as my daughter calls him is an 11.2hd gray Welsh pony gelding that came to us all the way from Maryland. He's here on trial (to make sure he and my daughter get along). Here's "Marty"....
After spending the day at the barn, I met up with the S family. It was a beautiful afternoon for beach pictures. Their little girl was so sweet and full of grins! Here are just a few previews from our time together! Hope you guys are having a great vacation!

Moms Club Portrait Party

Today I worked a portrait party for a Mom's club. I arrived at 8:45 and got everything set up. Throughout the day I photographed a total of 19 children - ages 6 weeks to 7 years. I had a total blast, even though I was there for 8 hours straight, lol.

So many cute children. The boys were boycotting most of the day- ha ha, but I was still able to get great captures of them! Here are a few previews from the day~

Today I had the honor of shooting a wedding for a lovely couple from California. The bride and I met in the 'Holliday Cottage' where she and the bridesmaids were getting ready. What an absolutely beauitful place.

The lighting situation outside was a bit of a tough one as we were shooting during one of the brightest times of day (1-5pm). Not a cloud in the sky for us - so bright, bright, bright! I have to say, the bride and groom were so calm and collected despite the fact he had poison oak AND was almost an hour late arriving!

Here are just a few "details" from inside the Cottage.

Tuesday afternoon I met with a wonderful family of 14 in Garden City Beach. It was still very bright when I arrived (6:30pm) so we decided to do some quick shots up at the beach house. We then headed down to the beach - where it was still quite bright, lol. The ocean was a beautiful shade of blue, as was the sky! We all had a blast trying to get everyone looking my way and finally decided that the interaction shots would work best. What a great family to work with!

Saturday I had my last Stork Club session with little J -- another that is growing up way too quickly! We met at the gardens and had fun exploring. I had my work cut out for me as she was on the move and was oh so curious about everything around. It was getting dark quickly, so we had to work fast.

Ohhhh, today I met up with one of my little Stork Club babies who just celebrated his first birthday! I know I say it all the time...but these little buggers grow up so dern fast!! He was all about exploring. No flowers for him....but the rocks were a big hit, ha ha. My shutter speed was working it's magic as he was fast on his new found feet! Our last session together I got all serious expressions...so I was VERY happy to get some smiles this time.

Very soon, little B will be a big brother -- as his mommy will be expecting in about 3 months!

This afternoon I met with a family of 11 at their beach house in Surfside. What a beautiful group they were!! 6 adults and 5 kiddos. We had a lot of fun, despite the fact that we froze the little ones. Started off with them in short sleeves and quickly put them in matching sweaters that their Grandma made for them (the cutest sweaters might I add). It wouldn't have been so bad - as it was in the 70s today - but the wind was what was chilly!

One foggy morning

This morning when I woke up, I looked outside to see a field full of fog. I got the kids up, fed, and took my son to school. Since I took Sydney out of school until August, I jumped on the opportunity to get some pictures. Got her dressed, grabbed some props, and rushed outside. By the time we were ready most of the fog had lifted :( and the sun was starting to burst through. I'm still happy with what we captured. I still can't believe how quickly these munchkins grow up!A little vintage finish with texture and border

Ohhhh, I just love weddings! Today I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding for a wonderful couple. It was originally planned as an outdoor wedding...but the weather has just not been cooperating this entire week. They had to move the ceremony indoors due to the threat of thunderstorms. We did get to shoot the formals outside as the storms held off...and I'm THRILLED that we were able to!

Obviously, I have not had time to go through ALL 700 images...but here are a few that caught my eye. CONGRATULATIONS to the new Mr. and Mrs. Gauthier! I hope you guys have a blast in the Bahama's.

Whew, I tell ya...the weather has been giving me fits lately! This whole week has just been icky...and today was just plain confusing!! Started out pretty nice out. Partly cloudy, in the 70s. I talked with my couple this morning and we had planned on meeting around 5:45 as it was supposed to turn overcast. Well, I gave them a call around 3:30 as the clouds rolled in, the temperature plummeted and the wind started blowing.

We decide to move it up and meet at 4:30 to beat the weather. Riiiiiiiight, when I got on location the wind was blowing SO HARD I could barely stand up!!!! They called and asked if we should wait and see what tomorrow held. I was already there, so told them to come on down and we'd just play, lol. It was interesting to say the least...and I felt like I was torturing. I'm glad I did though!! They are the cutest couple and were awesome to work with, even with the elements. Thanks guys for giving it a shot!

We will be shooting more tomorrow, but here are a few from our insane weather mini-shoot, ha ha. (Used some new actions that I felt worked well with the day).

Heading to Atlanta until Tuesday!

This afternoon I met with a fellow photog and her family from MI. I wasn't sure what the day was going to hold...as they were calling for thunderstorms. It was overcast and gray ALL DAY -- but when we arrived at the beach for our shoot -- the bright, bright sun popped right out *herumph*! Not only was it super bright, the wind was gusting about 30-40mph.
The kiddos -- 8, 4.5, and 2.5 were very excited to be on vacation to say the least. It was all mom and dad could do to just keep them all in the frame, LOL! Despite the elements, I think we had a good bit of fun!! I really enjoyed meeting and working with you guys. Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation!

This afternoon I met with the D family. They had the cutest little 12mo boy! He wasn't quite sure what to think about all the carrying on, ha ha. All I had to do was suggest what to do and they went with it and made it their own. I could really feel the love between these three! It was a fairly overcast gray day...with just enough brightness to make me not like white all over again, LOL!
I had a great time photographing you guys!! I hope you like these as much as I do~Nothing like holding a 20lb baby and what feels like a 20lb camera at the same time while focusing and holding still enough to get "the shot", HA HA HA!

3months already!!

I just can't get over how quickly these little doodle bugs grow! Miss K is already 3 months old and it seems like her Mommy just told me she was expecting. Poor little thing was dealing with acid refulx and colic. Needless to say, she was not the happiest of campers. Her mom and I got a method down where we would get her happy, put her down, get two or three shots taken, make her mad and pick her up to make her happy again, ha ha. Yes, it does sometimes make me feel like an evil, evil photog. We try really hard to keep them comfy and happy though.

I was there for almost three hours and was afraid that I didn't get much. When I sat down to edit, I was pleasantly surprised with some VERY cute shots of her! M, hope you like them!

This afternoon I met with 12 month old cutie pie, L...and her mommy and daddy out at Huntington Beach. We tried the castle first...but they closed the doors at 5pm (which is NOT making the photographers in my area happy at all). So we shot outside the castle for a bit. We attempted the beach...but between the harsh, bright sun and the really cold wind, we decided to head back towards the castle. Poor little L's two teeth were chattering, he he. Needless to say, I don't think they had a ton of fun, lol. I've gone through what we were able to capture and def. think they will have more fun looking at thier pictures!! This afternoon I met with one of my son's teachers (Mrs. F) and her daughter M. I arrived during her lunch break so we had the computer room all to ourselves, ha ha ha (it was too cold and bright outside)! They are in need of a mother daughter image for - I believe - a ballet recital program. Having to make do with what we had....we shoved some of the computer desks aside and gave ourselves a tiny spot in front of the wall. I had a time, even trying to bounce my flash, with harsh shadows. There were fluorescent stip lights above our heads on low ceilings. NOT the ideal place for a portrait!!! Much too tiny to drag in my backdrop and lights too.

Anyway, I sat down to look at what we got -- and was not at all impressed. However, I ran across this image that kinda tugged at my heart. I sat and sat trying to figure out how to make it a beautiful piece of art for them. After much thinking...I decided to paint it. I removed them completely from their surroundings and painted them on an elegant background. I'm VERY happy with how the final piece turned out...and hope that they will be too!

Brrrrrr....a cold Urban session

This afternoon I met with Miss V, who is quite the eye catcher!! She let me drag her around down town -- scoping out cool urban-ish locations, lol. Not only that she dealt with coooooold temp's and onlookers, he he. She was SUCH a great sport and a knockout to boot!

We found many different buildings that I found interesting. I had her climbing around everywhere, ha ha ha -- and all in her heels. After we were done with the urban scene, we drove down to Anderson Park and got a few down at the beach.

V, thanks for putting up with me and all you had to endure! I do hope you love what we captured!!I know the pipe is coming out of the top of her head here....but I just so loved this shot anywho!

Ohhhh, today I met with little Miss "J" and her Mommy at Huntington Beach State Park. Holy Cow, she is running at 9mo!!! I just knew I was only gonna get pics of her back, ha ha. "J" is a leg hugger too...and Mommy better stay within about 2 feet of her, lol.

We started inside the castle and then moved down to the beach (little "J's" first time to see that great big 'ole bathtub! I have to say that I think she loved it! That is until a little wave came up and got her. Actually, that didn't bother her too much...it's when she tried to stand up but flopped back down that she got mad, ha ha.

I just love watching the little ones grow up (however, they do it much too quickly)!

Friday I met up with little Miss "R", her Mom and little sister at the Riverwalk in Conway. We had planned on meeting at 4pm....but traffic left us meeting at just after 5pm! It was pretty overcast and by that point the sun was well below the tree line. We still managed to capture some great shots of "R"...chasing her most of the time, lol.

Every time I would snap a picture, "R" would say "Can I see that"....sometimes, she would say it BEFORE I took the picture, ha ha ha. She was probably one of the fastest children I've photographed in a looooong time! She had amazing hair that came down well past her waist....and boy, when I was able to get her to look my way -- well, you'll see!

This afternoon I met with Mr. R and his Mom, little brother and grandma (gah, can't remember what they call her...sorry). R has to be one of the cutest little boys I've photographed in a long time. At the ripe 'ole age of 5 he already has an agent and has been in commercials! He was so full of spunk...I promptly gave him the nickname "Monkey boy", ha ha.

I have only begun to flip through the images taken...but let me tell you, I have already found SO MANY that I adore. I am posting a LOT of previews...I just can't pick a favorite, ha ha.

Birthdays and Memories...

Today we celebrated my son's 11th birthday. His actual birthday is on Valentines day but his grandparents are flying out tomorrow to India for 3 weeks -- so we all got together today.

Before anyone brings it up....I only got ONE picture of him today. He's at that age of running and hiding whenever I point the camera at him...sighs. No matter how much I beg, plead, scream, cry and bribe...he won't have anything to do with it, lol.

The shaggy boy himself...I threaten daily to cut that mop off in his sleep, lol. His lips aren't that orange -- he'd just downed a bottle of orange fanta, ROFL!
and his sister on the carousel (hubby to her left and uncle "chooch" to her right...So since I had my camera with me...I snapped a few shots at the Pavilion Nostalgia Park. My favorite ride as a child was the old carousel. I'm SO HAPPY that they kept it here in Myrtle Beach.

2 pageants in one day...

Early yesterday morning Sydney and I went to SJHS to watch the talent portion of my niece's high school pageant. Casey is a junior this year and Sarah is a freshman. They did SO WELL! Both of them almost made me cry...and my mother (who was with us) was sobbing, ha ha ha.
Auditoriums can be THE hardest venues for pictures! Sarah, I am so sorry to say that the ones of you are too dark :(. I must say, that your "Hero's" presentation ROCKED!!! I am so proud of you!
Here is a shot of Casey singing - love the backdrop that you guys made! Both of you are SO BEAUTIFUL!
Once we left...Sydney and I had to locate a top for her pageant in the afternoon. We then headed to Ms. Nancy's for hair and makeup and to pick up her AWESOME valentine's wear! 2.5 hours later we were busting butt down Hwy 31 to make it to the pageant on time! It started at 6pm and we walked in the door at 5:58...YIKES!
Sydney was cool as a cucumber...and I'm all over the place, ROFL! She's all business when it comes to these things...and just goes out there like it's no big deal, ha ha ha. She didn't receive a crown this time...however, she did win photogenic! We head to Hartsville next weekend for another one.

While shooting yesterdays session -- by chance -- I met Mrs. Karen Pillow from GA. She was there shooting some pictures of her adorable son M. It was so cool to meet and talk with her! I snapped a couple of images of them and promised to share, ha ha.

Syda all "dolled" up for her portfolio pics. She had no makeup on at all for her the pictures. I did add digital eyelashes and a light eyeshadow for her printed photogenic image. I did nothing to her lips except enhance the natural shine -- can you believe that is her natural lip color?!?! Wish mine were that pink!

The new year has brought many changes to NKP - so I felt the need for an updated logo as well. I loved my little kite logo. However, it was just so hard to see on my new site. Along with the new logo...I now have new business cards, he he. I can already tell how much fun 2008 is going to be!

Today I met with some of the CUTEST sisters ever! Their mom owns a local children's boutique...and they showed up with the best outfits I think I've ever seen. It was very overcast so we met at 12pm.

I just adore shooting at the railroad tracks and the urban feel of the other two locations. Miss J is 5yo and has the most amazing red hair and an equally amazing personality. She was a little natural in front of the camera. Her little sister was just a bubbly little thing -- which mom said was unusual for her when cameras are involved, ha ha.

Her are a lot of previews from our time together. I have so many favorites already...and I haven't even finished going through them. C, I hope you love them as much as I do!!

Presidential Debates Today....

They are having the presidential debates today in Myrtle beach...and THIS is what I see when I step out my door, lol. How cool is that?! Can't say that I'm voting for Ron Paul....but pretty dern cool nonetheless! Added a shot at a 100% crop to show that there is actually someone looking down on us, HA HA HA! This afternoon I met with Miss L. It was nice and overcast so we decided to meet at 1pm. Welllll, as I got in the car to drive to meet them...the sun pops out. So much for the nice overcast day, lol. We wanted to shoot at the rail road tracks...but had to move to a different location with shade. We used two of my new favorite locations! L is SUCH a beautiful young lady - and these images prove it!! I have posted an overload of previews...I just can't decide which ones I love most, he he.

TTD trial run...what fun!

This afternoon I did a trash the dress trial run. A $20 wedding dress was purchased from eBay...and one of my best friends got trashed, ha ha ha. We had a tough time since the only time she could meet with me was pretty much high noon. Needless to say, the sun was NOT our friend. We did our best to find shade and ended up in a hotel parking garage and their kiddie pool. Poor thing, even though it was in the mid 70's today....the pool was FREEEEEZING!

We will be doing another run at a later date when we can meet at a better time.

Here are a few previews from a reshoot I did with little Miss K today. This time I brought along one of my giant softboxes. We only spent about 2 hours together...but were able to get a good many more than last attempt. Goodbye 2007....Hello 2008! As usual, I'm late with my blog post, lol. Momma always told me that I'll be late to my own funeral. Each and every one of you made 2007 a great year for Natalie Kimball Photography. I can hardly wait to see what 2008 has in store! I have to thank my family for sharing me...as my job takes a lot of my time away from them. They have been very supportive and I am blessed for that.

You will be seeing a few changes this year! Some of you already have seen the new website. It is totally awesome if I do say so myself ;)! If you haven't already....take a moment to visit the site. There is a Frequently Asked Questions section that I hope will be helpful. I am in the process of updating my portfolios. You can also see how the new galleries/shopping cart works by viewing my "featured gallery". This will change frequently so be sure to check it out! I would love to receive some feedback - so do let me know what you think!

Well, it was not the prettiest day for a session. It was very dark AND raining. We tried our best to get through the session but had to cut it short. What a great family this was -- they just took it all in stride. I on the other hand was doing all that I could to keep my camera from getting wet.

Congratulations to M and J on the arrival of little Kaylei! She arrived on December 21st exactly a week after out maternity session. The funny thing is, her son B was born about a week after his maternity session too. We joked today about how that worked out. So I suppose if you are wanting to have your baby sooner than later....just schedule a maternity session with me, ha ha ha!
We decided last minute to do her newborn shoot today. K was wide awake the entire time I was there. I think we will schedule another newborn session for the first of the week and pray that she will be a sleepy baby, he he.

First I would like to wish everyone a (late) MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Hope you had a beautiful holiday!

WOW, was it ever cold today! 37 degrees and that's not including the wind chill. For us beach goers...that's Cooooooold, lol. I met with Miss S today to do some portfolio work for her (pageants). I tell you what -- you would NEVER know this child is 10! Yes, she had on make-up - but it was done for the above reason.

Went for mostly moody shots...because it was too dern cold to smile, ha ha ha ha!

...and a beautiful little model to boot! This is my daughters friend "A" and it was her 8th birthday yesterday. I scooped her up and we drove around looking for locations to get some great pics. Boy did we ever find awesome locations!!! These would be spectacular senior locations too.
It was absolutely FREEZING out and "A" was such a trooper. I brought my pettiskirts and her little bare legs were peeking out. I was bundled up and cold...so I know she was!
Anyway, it was so worth it (and her Mommy LOVES what we captured).

The Diva did it!

Yup, another post about my little diva! Today we traveled to Florence, SC for her 5th pageant. There were 4 in her age group and she won the title along with most photogenic, portfolio winner, Christmas wear winner and most beautiful hair and smile! She's so very brave and owns that stage when she gets up there, lol. I tell ya, this child has a future in Hollywood, ha ha ha.

Here are a few captures I was able to get. Keep in mind that it was quite dark, with yellow lighting and I didn't have my flash. My iso was at 1600 and I had to drop my ss to 125.

A Diva, Pettiskirts, and Train Tracks....

I have to start this off by saying...."I am totally exhausted from the holiday rush!" Needed to do something to de-stress!

So what do I do to relieve stress you may ask? I decide to get Syda out of school an hour early to do a photo shoot. I would have done it after school but had to teach a riding lesson. It worked out so well because a few clouds came over while we were shooting. I decided to go just a few blocks from the school where there are some old train tracks. I'm so happy I chose this location!

These are petti's that I purchased to use during sessions. I guess you could say this was a test shoot of sorts. I have to say that I LOVE them! These are perfect for bringing out the little diva in any girl! Sydney is no exception...she adored wearing them!

Oh Baby!

I was so happy to hear that M was expecting baby #2! She is due the first of January but they doctors think it may be sooner. She called last week and we quickly scheduled her maternity session. So on Wednesday I met with her at her home and we took off on the golf cart to scout out locations. The sun was setting and provided a beautiful glow! We got some shots of just M and the belly -- and also with little B (who has grown up SO much!). I remember doing his maternity session...and it feels like yesterday! Can't wait to meet baby - they think it's a girl but don't know for sure.

Here is something I spotted during my session yesterday. This shrimp boat was just cruising the coast line....seagulls in tow! The sky was just glorious with the setting sun and the water was an incredible shade of blue! As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to capture it. I just adore the three gulls on the beach watching as it passed by.

Tough Guy

This afternoon I met with little B and his parents. Our first session together was when he was 4 months old...and now, he's almost 8 months old! He was a serious little bugger today, ha ha. Giving me all these tough guy faces. Since we knew ahead of time that this weekend was going to be glorious (in the 70's today), we decided to meet at the beach. The sun was SUPER bright when we arrived, so we had to make "home made shade", lol. After a few shots on the beach, we decided to move back up to the path where there was real shade. Does he not look like a Gap ad?!?! CUUUUUTE!

Once we felt like the sun had gone down enough, we headed back down to the water. Mom and Dad played with him....and THEN we stripped him down to his birthday suit, lol. Nothing cuter than a baby bum on the beach!!

Miss A.P. - Senior 2008

This afternoon I met with Miss A.P., who is a senior at S.J.H.S. We chose to meet at Huntington Beach State Park. It was a cool overcast day, that was great for pictures! We had so much fun being traditional, serious and silly! A's mom said that she was a reader, so she brought along these old books that made for great props. A had the best personality and it truly shows in her images!

Squidly....

ROFL....that's what I always call her. "Squid" or "Squidly", ha. She'll hate me if I call her that when she's older! Today we were playing around in the yard (it was Coooooood out!). She is not one that tolerates me and my camera very well. Every now and again she'll give me one of those "America's Next Top Model" poses - but only a handful and she is done. She's REALLY into the pageants right now - so I thought I would try and get some shots for her portfolio. Not quite sure if any of these cut it. She wanted to be inside where it was warm, ha ha. These were taken at about 2pm....but it was slightly overcast. She still insisted that the sun was too bright -- and you can see it in her face, lol.

Yesterday afternoon I met with two couples at Huntington Beach State Park. I swear we laughed through the entire session! These guys were so much fun to work with. We started in the castle and then moved down to the beach after the sun went down a bit. It was still quite bright but provided us with a beautiful pink and blue sky.

60th Anniversary

Yesterday I met with a family of 8. They were here on vacation celebrating their grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. I have to say that this group was GREAT to work with. It was freeeezing down on the beach and they took it with "a grain of sand" (pun intended)! We battled the fall sun - very bright at 3:30pm and gone by 5pm. These guys were SO much fun, full of personality! Sessions like these are the reason I LOVE my job ;)!

Miss CF...Class of 2008

This afternoon I met with the beautiful CF from Saint James High School. It was a beautiful day for pictures -- even if it was a little chilly. We met at Huntington Beach State Park and shot in and around the castle. I so love it there...walk 5 feet and have a totally different backdrop and feel. C made things very easy for me. She's a lovely girl with a super personality. We both had fun trying NOT to smile for certain pics. She'd get serious, I'd pop a grin and she'd laugh, ha ha.

Boy, OH Boy....

Oh boy, I met with my little Finn monster this afternoon. He is 14 months old now and a go-go gadget! I'm a little rusty when it comes to toddlers zooming around, ha ha. He had me laughing so hard throughout the session that I found it hard to press the shutter button (without camera shake that is, lol). I never thought I'd have a tough shoot with a little one that laughed SO MUCH! He has got to be one of the happiest babies I've seen in a while. Full of spunk and curiosity. I JUST ADORE HIM!

Little Beauty Queen...

What a busy week it has been! Preparing not only for Syda's birthday party but for her very first pageant as well (all on the same day)! Saturday morning she woke me up at 7:15 ready to primp for her special day. We got ready and headed to the mall and met with our friends (my friend and her daughter who was also in the pageant).

I was SO PROUD of my little girl! She was not nervous at all, walked up on that stage all by herself, talked into the microphone like a big girl AND WON! There were a total of 6 beautiful little girls in her division, ranging in ages from 4-6. I tried my best to take pictures -- however, mall lighting isn't the best (it was REALLY dark).

Shew, I tell ya...these kiddos grow up way too fast! Yesterday I met with little Mizz J. I still can't get over the fact that she's sitting up already! It was a tad chaotic in the F house, ha ha, and J was not quite sure what to think of me.
Using Natural light only was a bit tough as the weather was iffy outside. No light, bright light -- back and forth the whole time. We managed to get a few really good shots though! Here are a couple of previews from our time together~

Mizz LB ~ Beautiful!

This afternoon I met with the beautiful L, a senior from Saint James High School, and her Mom. We decided on Huntington Beach State Park and I'm so happy we did! The castle gates stayed open well after 5pm so we got to play inside. L was a bit shy but my oh my, did my camera just loved her! She brought several outfits and may I add had a body I would kill to have!!!

L, I really enjoyed working with you. I know as we were leaving you were doubtful that you'd like anything we got. Well, take a peek and THEN tell me what you think, ha ha! You are a beautiful girl...hold that head up high! Oh and can I just say you have amazing eyes? I noticed them while we were together...but man, they just jump off these images!

Early Bird gets the 'picture'!

Rise and shine was at 6:15 this morning so that I could meet with a couple that wanted an early session. I arrived on location at 7:30 and we promptly got to work. We played in several different locations; the inlet point, the inlet nature walk, in the road and in front of their condo. It was a beautiful morning -- however, the rising sun was just brutal!

As we were walking back to the car to drive to the nature walk I spotted a great shady spot right in the middle of the road. It had vibrant greenery behind them and the stark black road beneath them. We got in a few shots before almost being run over by a truck, ha ha ha.

The nature walk had a great walkway over the inlet, where we were able to find more shade. These guys are such a cute couple!! I had a great time working with you and hope you like what we were able to capture.

Renewal of Vows....

This afternoon I had the honor of photographing a married couple who were renewing their vows. We shot on the beach in front of their beach house and the setting was just beautiful. There was even a little swash that provided us with great reflections! Not a cloud to be found in the sky -- but the sunset gave us glorious pinks and purples.

Family of 10....

Yesterday afternoon I met with the L family. There were 10 of them total...two families with two kiddos each and the grandparents. They were celebrating Grandma's birthday! We met at Huntington Beach State Park. Since they have started closing the castle gates at 5pm now, we started in front of the castle. When finished there we moved down to the beach. The tide was coming in but there was plenty of beach for us to work with. The hardest element is that the sun is going down so quickly now. So we finished up in the dark, lol.

We beat the elements again!!

Yesterday afternoon I met with the M family. The weather had just been awful all day -- rain, wind and very dark and dreary skies. That wasn't the only element we had to conquer...it's bike week here in Myrtle Beach and traffic was insane! It took me an hour to get to the location we chose. One that normally takes me about 30 minutes! Well, we made it, ha ha ha...we beat the elements!!
The M's have two beautimus kiddos -- little J who is 3 and little R who is 2. I had so much fun capturing life during this session. The love for each other just beamed from all of them! The stormy skies broke and little pieces of blue sky broke through the clouds. A rainbow over head just topped it all.
At the end of our session we were informed that the M's had a flat tire...poor guys! Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation (and that it doesn't rain the whole time)! Thank you again for choosing Natalie Kimball Photography!

The E Family...

This afternoon I met with the E family -- they had two beautiful little girls, S and A. We weren't sure that we would get the session in at all. It rained all day off and on and was very gray and gloomy. It sprinkled a few times while we were shooting (enough to pull out the plastic bag for my camera, lol)...but held off enough for us to get a whole hour and a half in! Both of their girls were sooooo very sweet. Little S ran up and hugged me as I walked to meet with the family! They 'digged' the Dora and Princess pinwheels that I brought for them, he he. I've skimmed what we were able to capture and overall I'm quite happy! Hope you guys are too!!!

The L Family....

This afternoon I met with the L family - 13 total (and not all L's, lol). Oh my goodness, I know I say this every session...but they had some of THE CUTEST kiddos!! We started shooting around 6pm and kept shooting until sunset. Holy Cow, it was one of the most beautiful skies I have EVER seen!

I had a lot of fun with you guys today! Here are a few previews (ok a LOT of previews) from our time together~Didn't I say it was a glorious sky??!! I did very little post processing on this one - that's really what it looked like!

Sydney, my little girl, is a month away from turning FIVE! I soooo can't believe how fast she is growing up. We went out in the yard a few days ago to get some pics for her birthday invitation. We had a lot of fun...however, she's so NOT into the camera, rofl.

Here are a few that I captured (and LOVE). I had plans to get her a different outfit for her birthday pics...but this is what we had at the time. A mini-tutu, a black shirt, thigh high Halloween tights and a spooky tiara, ha ha.

I did a bit of texturizing on some and really like the way they turned out. Not my typical style...but for the occasion, I dig it!

The R Family....

Yesterday afternoon I met up with the R family at my North Myrtle Beach location. There were 8 of them total...and two of the cutest little boys! It was quite bright when we started but there were a few dark wispy clouds over the ocean. The sun finally dropped below the closest hotel and provided us some very nice shade. The wind was whipping down on the beach...but luckily none of the women had very long hair, lol.
The little ones seemed to either (a) love the pinwheel spinning in my hair trick or (b) just thought I was a crazy woman, lol. Whatever it was, it worked!

The E family...

Tuesday afternoon I met up with the E family (after we both did way too much driving, ROFL)!

We were scheduled to meet at my North Myrtle Beach location. I arrived there at 6pm - and received a call from Mr. E, who said they were there. No one there but me, lol...so we quickly figured out that they had driven to the wrong location *ack*. I had driven 30 minutes north and they had driven 30 minutes south -- so we passed each other somewhere along the way.

We finally met around 6:45, had a good chuckle and hustled down to the beach. Let me tell ya, that sun set SO QUICKLY - we had to work super fast - and with a 15 month old that didn't like me very much, ROFL! It was literally pitch black as we finished up our session.

Holy cow, I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted on my blog!

The kids started school -- my daughters first year (it's been tough, yet awesome). Her first day I had an anxiety attack, lol. It has been almost 10 years since I haven't had a child in my house all day. Now, it's just me...and my work, lot's of it too!

I had a session this past Tuesday and it should have been up here already -- I will be posting the previews very soon. I've had orders coming out of the wazoo and that has taken up a great deal of my time. I have a new splash page up for my website. It will now allow you to decide where you want to go: my site, my blog or NKSeniors. It also has my contact information so I can be easily reached.

This afternoon I met with a beautiful couple in Cherry Grove! They will be getting married in October -- in Ohio. We managed to get the session in despite all of the rain surrounding us. It actually ended up being a GREAT day for photographs. There were nice big clouds over the ocean -- which I love! Nice crisp day with no humidity and a slight breeze.

This afternoon I met with the F family at my North Myrtle Beach location. Oh, the weather was PERFECT! Lighting was great, slight breeze, low humidity and a GREAT family! There was Mom and Dad and their 2yo and 4yo. The kiddos weren't too much into the whole "posed" family shots but we got some cute ones anyway, ha ha. They preferred the au' natural candid shots -- which I loved! The reflections we got today were spectacular -- something I strive to get during all my shoots.

The M Family...

This afternoon I met with the M family at my North Myrtle Beach location. It was Mom, Dad and their 2yo and 4yo. It was VERY bright when we started! It can be quite difficult to judge the weather/lighting this time of year. The sun is setting faster and it can be a clear sky with no clouds or overcast and dark!

We played for a little bit and finally the sun dropped below the closest hotel and gave us some shade to work in. The kids were a little hesitant at first and wanted to be right beside Mommy. Towards the end of the session they finally got used to me pointing my camera at them, lol. I've skimmed through what we got and think we got some great shots!

He popped the question!!!!

How excited was I when I got the call from K that he wanted to schedule a session with his girlfriend...and was going to ask her to MARRY HIM??!!!! I met with them this afternoon at Huntington Beach State Park.

We were going to start out in the castle, like I usually do, but they had the castle gates closed. Two other photographers were standing there -- and one clued me into what was going on. They now close the doors at 5pm. WHAT?! So we (local photog's) are going to petition and see if we can't get them to leave them open longer.

Anyway, back to the session. What an great session it was. It nearly brought me to tears when he proposed! He caught her way off guard - it was just awesome - Champagne and everything! Since we didn't get to start in the castle, it was a bit brighter than I would have liked it to have been when we got down to the beach. However, the sun goes down a lot faster this time of year -- so it didn't affect us too much.

I celebrated my 31st birthday this past Friday (well, not celebrating the old part, ha ha). I've been so busy this summer that I gave myself a few days off...and tried to not even come near the computer. That's harder than you can imagine! So if you are waiting for proofs - I'm going back to work tonight.

This morning I met my newest Stork Club member - 4mo baby B. I could have just eaten him up! He has the sweetest Mommy and Daddy, who absolutely worship him. We did the entire session in his room -- and the natural light from his windows was glorious.

Second meeting this month!!

Earlier this month I met with the D family and photographed all the kiddos (five cousins). About a week later I got an email that one of the individual families would like to return for a family beach session.

This afternoon we met at my North Myrtle Beach location. There was Mom, Dad and little M. We started by playing near the water -- and M got to chase the seagulls! When we moved up to the dunes I had to get creative to compete with those birds, ha ha. I had Dad run to my car and grab some pinwheels. M got one of them and I put the other one in my hair. It worked!! She would watch my pinwheel spinning above my head and it got us some great shots!

The R family...

This evening I met with the R family at Huntington Beach. What a great family!! There was a total of 10 -- 7 adults and 3 children, ages 5.5, 2.5 and 6 weeks. The day was just beautiful for photographs. It was still quite warm (in the 90s) but the humidity wasn't as bad and there was a nice calm breeze blowing.

I really enjoyed meeting and working with you guys! I hope you enjoyed your vacation to the beach and are happy with the memories that we captured!!

The O family...

Yesterday evening I met with the O family. There were 10 of them total-- Eight adults and two precious little boys. We met at the beach where they were staying. It was hot and muggy...but the gusty winds made it bearable. I really enjoyed meeting/working with you guys!

I met with the B family yesterday evening at my North Myrtle Beach location. I was THRILLED to see that they decided to take advantage of my "$25 off if you wear color to your beach session" special! I know you guys will be happy that you did :) !

It was quite bright (well, very bright) when we started shooting - with crystal clear skies and water. We did try and take advantage of the shade when the sun dropped below the closest hotel, ha ha.

I hope you love these as much as I do! I really enjoyed meeting/working with you and hope you enjoyed your vacation to the fullest.

Another Senior Session...

This afternoon I met with another senior at Huntington Beach State Park. This one was visiting from out of state -- and loved the thought of taking beach pics back home! She started out quite shy but once she opened up, we both were having a blast!
Her mother is a little unsure about her photographs being publicly displayed -- so until she says ok, I'm not going to post any here. They will go up if she gives the go ahead!

The J family...

This evening I met with the J family. They had two of the cutest little boys, an 8yo and a 7mo. I was so happy to see them wearing color too!!! We started as usual in the castle since the sun was still very bright. Got some great shots in there before moving down to the beach. It was still quite bright but by the time we got to the family dune shots the sun had gone down a good bit.

I'm happy to announce our new 2008 SJHS Senior Representative,

Miss Samantha E. Samantha is a beautiful young lady that was so very much fun to work with. We met up at Huntington Beach, had some fun playing in the castle first. Her colorful shirt choices really worked with the green doors there. We then moved down to the beach where we "stepped out of the box" a bit and got a little 'wet and wild'! She was a natural and my camera just loved her!

This afternoon I met with the B family (minus dad) at Huntington Beach State Park. Today it was in the low 90s and I don't think I even broke a sweat this time! Felt great compared to how hot it has been this past week.

I really enjoyed working with you guys today! I also have to say again how much I adore your mini cooper, lol.
