Sneak peeks from the brides preparation!

Just a couple sneak peeks from the preparation portion of the Escola/Gibson wedding. MANY more to come...I got a TON of images yesterday and have only gotten through a handful of them so far.

Unless you are a photographer, you have no idea how exhausting shooting a wedding is! Mentally and physically!! I bet I stressed over the weather just as much as the bride did, lol. I had my camera in my hands for 6 hours straight - only putting it down a couple times to take a break - and even have a blister on my thumb to prove it, lol.

I am very happy with what I have gone through so far and can only hope that the bride/groom love them as much as I do!

6 hours later, I'm Cross eyed!!

This evening I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful beach wedding. It was extremely overcast and humid BUT it didn't rain!!!! Started shooting at 4pm and finished up right at 10pm. I am exhausted AND cross eyed, so proofs will be posted tomorrow!

Pre-Teen drama

I'm working on my focusing and kindly asked my son if he would stay still for two seconds so I could practice. Oh yeah, that wen't over well. At 10, he's more like 15, lol. He's very intelligent for his age...but there's also a lot of drama to be 10, ha ha. Anyway, I was playing around with my focus points and liked what I was getting (except for the expression). This was taken at ISO 100, f/4.0, 1/200s, 105 mm. It's very overcast today - taken around 4pm.

These things take time so I will update you when 'Kimball Designs' become available!

Summer is officially here, lol!

For those of you who don't know, we don't really have a spring and a fall here in Myrtle Beach. We get summer and winter, lol. Today our high is 86 degrees and the rest of the week seems to be following suit.
I decided this morning, before the sun got too high in the sky, that I was going to try and get some pics of Miss Syda. She was actually up for it since we had some new dresses and cooperated fairly well. At first I tried to keep her from doing her squinched up little elvish grin...but then I told myself, that's HER and I want to remember HER. Yeah, I tell my clients this all the time, right?!

So without further ado, her's my little woman...two storyboards that I put together quickly~

Busy..busy..busy!

Well, when I don't have my camera in hand, there is usually a child or a horse attached to me - or BOTH! This Saturday I am cohosting a horse show with a friend at her farm. The weather is supposed to be beautiful so fingers crossed that we have a good turn out (turn out = the amount of horses/riders that show up). I do plan to have my camera with me so hopefully I'll have time to get some shots amid the running around.

I have three sessions coming up the first week of May! A beach wedding, a first year anniversary couple and a couple with their yellow lab. What a great variety!! Can't wait to meet them and share their preview images with you. I'm so happy that Spring is finally here! The weather couldn't be any better. In fact, the low tonight is a balmy 68 degrees! LOVE IT!!

My latest painting...

As I try and get used to my new paint program...I find all kinds of new brushes and techniques! I have so much fun with these. This one is of one of my Stork Club babies...is he not the CUTEST thing ever?! I replaced the original background and will post a before and after shot so that you can see the difference. K, I hope you love this one (I know you loved the original image)!!

It's PROM time!!

I had the honor of photographing my niece and her boyfriend's high school prom pictures this evening. I had a lot of fun capturing these. What a great location, right at the entrance of their community! I knew as soon as I drove in that I would have to get some at "the gazebo". Beautiful water fall, great columns, and the lighting was just right! Casey, I know I've said it before...but I have to say it again..."WOW, you have grown up"! You are such a beautiful young lady and I just love Ben (great catch, he he). I hope you guys have a blast this evening!!

Starting Fresh...

Sadly, with my computer crash I lost all of my paintings. However, I'm starting fresh with Corel Painter X and my new iMac! Here is one of my first portraits with the new program. It has a bit of a learning curve but I'm starting to get it. Still trying to get used to the new calibration on my computer as well. Can't wait to play more...until then~

Miss Olivia

My newest SCB!!

I would like to introduce little Baby J, my newest Stork Club member! I got to meet her for the first time today - she's a whoppin' 8 days old. What a beautiful little girl she is! Just like her brother, she was very alert and didn't sleep a wink during our session. I suppose she didn't want to miss anything, lol. We tried very hard to get her brother to join in on the fun...but he was too busy for pictures.

Back to work!

My computer has arrived and I am now back to work - YEA! Since I had fallen so very far behind, I am going to post preview images from several of the sessions I've done. Thank you, all of you, for your patience and understanding!!

YAY - It's on it's way!!!

Got confirmation today that the Mac is in the mail! WHOO HOOO!!! I will finally be able to get back to work. So those of you who are waiting on your images get ready because I will be working round the clock to get them up as soon as humanly possible!!

A quick update

Yesterday I ordered a new Mac so I should be able to get back to work very soon! I am having it over nighted but as of this morning it says "not yet shipped" - even though I ordered it at 11am yesterday morning, ugh. All is well though, it will be here VERY soon!!

If you are still waiting on your proofs, know that they will be going in your galleries shortly.

Pulling my hair out...and an apology!

Ohhhhh, I am sooooooooo not happy!

First I would like to apologize to my clients that are waiting on their proofs. I typically have proofs available for viewing within 3-4 days...and I'm sad and sorry that I am unable to do so currently.

Word to the wise - I recommend that you NEVER...EVER...take your computer to "Computer Inferno" or ANY of their affiliates! They have been "working" on my computer since February 27th and to this day it is not repaired yet. The ONLY reason I took it back to them is I had already paid them to fix it. I called them on a daily basis and consistently heard "We'll call you as soon as it's ready". Do you think that I got one single phone call from them...nope!!!! Can you believe that?! Not even when I spoke with the Manager. He says "I'm on top of it and will give you a call" - think he did? Nope again!!!!

I've contacted the BBB and have filed a complaint. I'm not one for throwing names out - but this is one time that I have no problem doing so. They have caused me unbelievable stress not to mention loss of clients, work and money.

So to all of my clients who are patiently (or impatiently) awaiting your proofs...PLEASE bear with me! I am finally able to check my e-mail for now. However, I am currently 4 sessions behind, 5 as of tomorrow, 6 as of Thursday!! I'm working as hard as I can to resolve this problem and get your images to you asap. In fact in the process of purchasing a second computer so that this will never happen again.
